A US citizen EFM does not have to reside in country to be considered, but the sponsoring officer under COM authority does have to be officially assigned to post. US Embassy Tbilisi is seeking an Eligible Family Member (EFM) for employment in country for the Security Escort in Regional Security Office. BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION: - Serve as cleared American Escort of non-cleared personnel in Control Access Areas (CAAs);
- Escorts crews working on maintenance, renovation and re-building of office space in classified areas;
- Escorts janitorial staff in Control Access Areas (CAAs);
- Escorts randomly procured items from point of procurement into CAAs;
- Performs other assigned duties as designated.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. - Education: High school diploma is required;
- Language: Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading English is required;
- One year of prior general work experience is required;
- Basic knowledge of duties, priorities and policies of State Department offices is required;
- Ability to effectively communicate orally with all levels of personnel.
SELECTION PROCESS: When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and US Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidates address the required qualifications above in the application. - Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
- Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
- Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
- Incumbent should be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

US citizen EFMs and uniformed service members (not under Chief of Mission Authority) and Members of Household (MOH) of FS, CS officially assigned to post are generally the only individuals who are NOR and are eligible to work under host country law Member of Household (MOH): A MOH is a person who: 1) Has accompanied, but is not/not on the travel orders of a US citizen Foreign or Civil Service employee or uniform service member permanently assigned to or stationed at a US Foreign service post or establishment abroad; 2) Has been declared by the sponsoring employee to the COM as part of his/her household; and 3) Resides at post with the sponsoring employee.
