Vestel Group of Companies consisting of a total of 18 companies including seven domestic and eleven foreign companies which are active in the electronic, white goods and information technology fields is the flagship of the investments of the Zorlu Group in the electronic and white goods sectors. Vestel, exporting to 103 countries with its products of the world standards from TVs to white goods, from air conditioners to computers, today has a market share of 20% in the most developped countries in Europe such as Germany, England and France, and a market share of 5% globally.
Vestel, having concretized its success in domestic as well as foreign markets by becoming the champion with its export figure of 548 million Dollars it carried out in the year of 2000, by the investments it realized globally, provides thousands of people with employment possibilities and provides its country with a great export potantial.
Vestel, having realized a total export figure of 1,5 billion Dollars in 2003, in which it exported 77% of the production in white goods, targeted a turnover of over 2 billion Dollars for 2004.
Vestel, by the importance it gave to developping new products in order to follow the global improvements rapidly and at the right time, carried out R&D investments on 5 locations globally including England, USA, HongKong, Manisa and İzmir. These investments symbolize the passion of Vestel, which produces it's own technology by itself to create world-quality products for the people worldwide.
Vestel, having signed many firsts in TV production, is proud to be the first to launch 100 Hz TVs, the first 87-screen TVs, TVs of 16:9 movie-format, Flat TVs with DVD, recordable Replay TVs, TVs with Dolby Surround Prologic System, Digital TVs, Internet TVs, TFT TVs and Plasma TVs.
Based upon the results of 2003, Vestel Elektronik had 31% of the Turkish domestic TV market, and 53% market share in the TV export of Turkiye. As for the European market, it had a 23% market share. For the last one year and a half, it started to manufacture the products of the global electronic giants such as JVC, Hitachi and Toshiba in its facilities.
Vestel White Goods, which started production with refrigerators and split A/Cs at the beginning of June in 1999, carries out production under 127 trademarks as ODM in 66 countries including mainly England, France, Germany and Spain. The export ratio of Vestel White Goods, having production facilities with the capacity of 1,5 million refrigerators, 300,000 split A/Cs, and 1 million washing machines per year together with the new factory to be opened in September, 2003.
As for the Vestel Comunication facilities, which were set-up in the year of 1975 to carry out the first remote controller and tuner production in Turkiye, it has the largest electronic component surface mounting (SMD) capacity in Turkiye, and is the largest analogue satellite receiver and DVD producer in Europe. Vestel komünikasyon, having the first digital R&D department in Turkiye, has also been the Leader in the personel computer production for the last 3 years in Turkiye.
Foreign and domestic sellings of all the goods produced in the factories of Vestel Elektronik, Vestelkom and Vestel White Goods are carried out by Vestel Foreign Trading, and Vestel Marketing, another company of the Group, respectively.
Vestel Marketing continues its activities by the four area directorships, and 12 sales directorships as required by the geographical and economic structures of Turkiye. The company has about 1500 active dealers including 531 showrooms and 393 shops ans over 600 after-sales service centers in every corner of Turkiye at which it gets together products with JVC, Zanussi, Regal ve Moulinex trade names besides the Vestel-branded products with consumers.
